Swedes’ Attitudes and Knowledge about Work Environment Examined

How important are work environment issues to the Swedish population? The agency is now launching a project to examine attitudes and knowledge about the work environment among the Swedish public.

The project aims to increase understanding of Swedes’ attitudes towards work environment issues and their existing knowledge of work environment management. The goal is to identify attitudes and knowledge and how these vary between different groups, such as gender, age, managers, country of birth, and education level.

“Understanding Swedes’ attitudes towards the work environment is crucial for developing targeted and effective measures for a sustainable work environment,” says Johan Stenmark, an analyst involved in the project.

Collaboration Behind the Survey

During the winter of 2023, the agency, in collaboration with work environment experts, designed a survey. Labor market partners contributed valuable insights, and parts of the survey were based on the Swedish Work Environment Authority’s 2019 study, “Work Environment Attitudes.”

10,000 Swedes Participating in the Survey

The survey has been sent to 10,000 randomly selected Swedes aged 20-64. The study, conducted by Statistics Sweden (SCB) during February and March 2024, is currently in the results compilation phase.

The Report Will Be Published in November 2024

“We look forward to sharing interesting patterns and differences in perceptions and knowledge about the work environment,” says Sverre Lundqvist, project leader and communicator. The report will be published at the beginning of November 2024, followed by a series of activities to disseminate the results.
