_gid (expires after 24 hours)

This cookie is used to store a unique identifier and group the entire visit’s activity for the unique identifier.

_gat (expires after 1 minute)

This cookie is associated with Google Universal Analytics. According to the documentation, it is used to throttle the request rate, i.e., limit the collection of data on high-traffic sites.
