Identified knowledge gaps in 2022

Through the knowledge compilations produced by the agency, we gain knowledge about areas where there is a lack of research. Identifying the knowledge gaps is important because they can serve as inspiration for future research. Here is a summary of the knowledge gaps that have been identified in our completed knowledge summaries in 2022.

There is a lack of knowledge in the following areas:

  • work environment for LGBTQ people in working-class occupations
  • gay and bisexual as well as trans and queer people in industries with worse working conditions

The importance of leadership for employee well-being and performanceexpand_more

  • studies that pit leadership theories against each other
  • how different leadership theories complement each other instead of competing
  • systematic knowledge of how destructive behaviours become visible and measurable
  • how leaders can be trained in behaviours that benefit employees’ well-being and work performance at individual, group and organisational level
  • which factors can influence the leadership process
  • measurement of cortisol, sickness absence or cardiovascular disease risk or diary entries through studies with stronger designs
  • how destructive leadership affects employee performance over a longer period of time
